Mission
WHAT?
We are a community that empowers, supports and facilitates scientists in any discipline to act effectively to avert imminent climate, ecological, health and societal collapse.
HOW?
Scientists on Survival acts as the umbrella that supports a broad range of initiatives, as well as the scientists who participate in them. Each Initiative - whether one-off actions or longer-term projects and campaigns - must align with our core principles and values, but may operate autonomously under their own more tightly defined goals and structure.
WHY?
Scientists are trusted to communicate and act on the Emergency we face, and many of us have the knowledge and skills to do so. This gives us legitimacy as well as responsibility to play a more active, impactful societal role in accelerating transformation. Scientists can feel isolated, overwhelmed and disempowered trying to act alone, making a welcoming community especially valuable in empowering them to take action.
